Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about FaceIn — from how it works to what it can't do. No fluff.

Honestly, yes. FaceIn handles the vast majority of digital logins, but there are situations where biometrics alone aren't enough:

  • Government portals with mandatory 2FA hardware — Some federal systems (IRS, certain banking regulators) require a physical security key or smart card by law. FaceIn can handle the login, but you'll still need to tap the hardware token.
  • Legacy systems with no web or app interface — Mainframe terminals, SSH-only servers, or proprietary systems with custom login clients that don't support modern authentication protocols.
  • Sites that haven't integrated the FaceIn SDK yet — FaceIn's passwordless login requires the site or app to integrate our SDK. For sites that haven't adopted it yet, you can still use FaceIn's built-in password vault to autofill credentials with biometric unlock.
  • Shared or kiosk devices without your phone nearby — FaceIn's cross-device authentication requires your enrolled phone to be reachable (via QR scan or push notification). If you're at a public kiosk without your phone, FaceIn can't help.
  • Accounts requiring knowledge-based verification — Some services (insurance claims, medical records) require you to answer security questions or provide personal details that biometrics can't replace.

For everything else — social media, email, banking apps, shopping, streaming, work tools — FaceIn has you covered.
